Aubree Dieckmeyer, Season 11

Meet Hollywood bound Aubree Dieckmeyer

She showed up on American Idol’s San Diego set looking like a model, acting a bit ditzy, acting a wee bit flirty.

And on national TV Sunday night, she also seemed a wee bit confused.

She thanked her family for their support for her singing and her quest to become America’s next top model.

“America’s next top model?” the interviewer asked.

Oops.  Aubree Dieckmeyer cracked up laughing.

Having watched Aubree’s golden ticket interview, I’m not convinced she was confused at all.

This young lady’s quite the jokester.

Asked what makes her unique, she said it’s her personality, and her ability to make ugly faces.

Then she demonstrates those faces.  And starts laughing again.

It’s when she starts singing that you pay attention. Hey, that is a very sweet voice.

The Idol judges agreed after she sang “Looking Good” for them in Sunday’s episode.

“I haven’t heard anyone sing with that sort of flavor in her voice,” Steven Tyler said.

Added Jennifer Lopez:  “It’s all gorgeous.  I love the voice.  I love the look.  I love everything about it.”

Apparently, music is a family affair for Aubree.  The 20-year-old receptionist from San Clemente said she’s been singing with her mother as long as she can remember.

And her dad is Marty Dieckmeyer, former bass player with the Christian rock band Daniel Amos.

With all that music in her background, there must be video out there somewhere of Aubree singing pre-Idol.  If anyone knows of any, let me know.

Meanwhile, here’s her audition, in case you missed it.

UPDATE: Aubree has been kind enough to point the path to some videos. I’ve posted three below.  If you’d like to see more, head here.

“Amazing Grace”

“Hey Jude”

“Don’t Wanna Go Home”
