Her audition: Janora Brown, 22, of Wingate, N.C., performed “Angel of Mine” by Monica. Her opening prompted chair turns from Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. John called her version of the song “really cool.” Blake said she has an instantly recognizable voice. Janora decided to join Team Legend.

More on Janora:

* Janora said she chose to sing “Angel of Mine” because “Monica is an amazing artist. I love the vocal arrangements in ‘Angel of Mine.’ Vocally, the song is very soulful and I believed that I could deliver it well.”

* Janora said she was actually concerned she wouldn’t get to audition because teams were filling up. As it turned out, by the time she took the stage, only three spots were left on the show — two on Team Legend and one on Team Kelly. (Editor’s Note: The Voice doesn’t air auditions in the order they occur.)

* “My blind audition experience was unforgettable, a moment I will never forget,” Janora said. “I was extremely grateful when both John and Kelly turned around.”

* As for her decision to join Team Legend? “I am a John Legend fan,” Janora said. ” I actually sang a John Legend song, ‘All of Me,’, in a school talent show! So it was a dream come true meeting him in person and having the honor of him being my coach!”

* Janora says she started singing when she was 3. “I had many musical toys,” she told Voice Views. “But my favorite was this ages 3+ microphone. I truly believed I was a singer at that young age.”

* She entered her first talent show at age 7, singing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Says Janora: “That moment started my serious pursuit of music.”

* According to her Voice bio, she won all but one of the 25 talent shows she entered while in school.

* In her bio package, Janora said her mom inspired her to start singing. She also draws inspiration from her older sister, who has Lupus, has been on dialysis for six years, “She believes in me so much,” Janora told The Voice. “That gives me courage.”

* In terms of professional musicians, Janora said her inspirations include Beyonce — she grew up listening to Destiny’s Child — and Ariana Grande.

* Janora told Voice Views she’s written many songs and has original music, but hasn’t released any of it yet. She loves to sing R&B/soul and pop gospel music.

* Janora is also a graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro with a degree in biology and concentration in pre-dentistry.
