Here’s more about Kay.
* She’s a first generation Filipino-American artist who grew up in the San Francisco area.
* She’s been performing most of her life, having spent 13 years in a children’s choir that traveled the world on summer tours.
* Now based in Los Angeles, she attended UCLA, graduating with a major in musical theater in 2022.
* Kay has one song on streaming sites, “Finally See.” It’s a song she wrote about the breakthroughs people achieve after facing adversity. She performed the song as part of the Spring Sing in her third year at UCLA.
* She also performed with the UCLA Scattertones, an a cappella group that placed third in the intercollegiate competition in 2022.
* Since graduating, she’s put that musical theatre degree to good use with roles in Grumpy Monkey, Invincible and The Shadow at various venues in the L.A. area.
* She was musical director and understudy for various roles in Spring Awakening at East West Players. And a performer and vocal captain for The Tempest: An Immersive Experience at the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles.
* Her website bio says Kay “believes in theater with a purpose: to provide catharsis, awakening, and healing among BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and underrepresented communities.”
* Earlier this year, she also won a competition that allowed her to duet with Natalie Weiss, one of her inspirations. You can check out their performance of “Quiet” on Kay’s YouTube channel.
* Kay also plays piano and guitar.
