His audition: Kendall Eugene, 37, Fort Worth, Texas, “Don’t Think Jesus” by Morgan Wallace: Kendall showed off a nice country voice on his opening and hit a nice high note midway through the performance. No one turned in spite of a strong ending by Kendall. Reba McEntire said she liked everything it and doesn’t know why she didn’t turn. Then she hit her coach replay button to give Kendall a spot on the show. That meant Kendall earned the first-ever spot on the show via the coach replay button.

* He’s a country artist who hails from Texas, but is now living in Indiana, Pa. Kendall Eugene is the stage name for Kendall E. Kersey.

* Kendall hasn’t released music yet, but he’s working on it. He started a Go Fund Me in August to raise money for a debut EP.

* “I have worked my entire life to have the opportunity to be a full-time musician,” he writes. “My music is aimed to deal with real-world, personal issues and help others express emotion through melody.”

* In his website bio, Kendall says he got his start at age 6 when his father asked him to fill in for the drummer in the church band.

* In additiion to solo shows, Kendall performs around the Pittsburgh area with a country rock band called Renegade Revival.

* Kendall says his musical style is influenced by a trio of popular country artists — Chris Stapleton, Jelly Roll, and Zach Bryan.
