Kendra Struck of American Idol Season 24
Idol returned to ABC on Monday, Jan. 26 with the judging trio of Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie. The final audition episode airs Monday.
Here’s more about Kendra:
* She’s a just-turned 22-year-old country artist and singer-songwriter from Parma, Mich.
* And she has a pair of singles out, “Keep Your Last Name” and “I Burned a Bridge,” both released last year.
* In a December interview with Let’s Make Community, Kendra says she grew up around music because her dad played guitar and sang and because she grew up singing in church.
* As for why she pursued music as a career, Kendra said “I just want to be a positive influence. I want to share music that means something to people and makes them feel something.”
* That’s true of the two songs she’s released so far. Both have a self-empowerment theme at their heart, she points out.
* “The two songs I have out are really highlighting the fact that you’re worth it to be treated well or you’re worth it to have what you want in life.” Check out the lyric video for “I Burned the Bridge” below.
* Kendra announced her Idol audition back in November, writing “I am beyond grateful for this experience, and all the kind people I’ve met along the way.”
* She’s already developed a growing fan base with more than 1,000 followers and 54,000 likes on her TikTok.
