Nick Merico auditioned for American Idol Season 17

Among the singers we’ll meet is Nick Merico, a performer with 378,000 followers on Facebook, 197,000 on Instagram and 62,000 on Twitter.

Here’s more about Nick.

* He’s in his early 20s, St. Louis born, Miami grown and L.A. based.

* He identifies himself as an actor, singer, songwriter and dreamer on Facebook.

* He can certainly back up the first part of that. Between 2014 and 2015, he appeared on more than 80 episodes of Nickelodeon’s “Every Witch Way.” He played swim team champion Daniel Miller, the object of affection of two witches, Emma (Paola Andino) and Maddie (Paris Smith).

* As for the second part, Nick released three singles between 2013 and 2015, including a debut single called “I Won’t Let You Go” that has more than 750,000 streams on Spotify.

* Nick followed those up with a new single called “Say Your Love” last March. He calls it a self-empowerment song about realizing one’s own self worth. You can check it out below.

* In an interview with CelebMix, he said he has other new music he’s hoping to release soon. “It definitely sounds a lot more mature,” he said of his newer music. “Especially with the production, it’s not as teeny bopper anymore.”

* In the same interview, he listed his musical inspirations as The Beatles in terms of songwriting, Johnny Hathaway because of the soul with which he sings, Queen for their creativity and Michael Jackson for his stage presence.
