The Voice returns Monday, Feb. 3, with the coaching quartet of Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Buble, John Legend and Adam Levine.
Here’s more about Olivia:
* Olivia is a singer, songwriter and producer and has been L.A. based for the past 12 years.
* As a result, she recently wrote that she was feeling “shock and grief” over the L.A. wildfires.
* Writes Olivia: “It’s difficult to process such devastation. I love LA. It’s a vibrant city, a really special place. I think it will take a long time to fully grasp what’s been lost.”
* Ironically, she and colleagues wrote a musical “The Day the Sky Turned Orange” that debuted in November. It’s set in September 2020, when wildfires were raging in California.
* Olivia also has an impressive resume as a singer and songwriter, having released two albums, an EP and a number of singles.
* Her latest album, the 11-song “Stylish,” landed in April. Wrote Olivia at the time: “This is my love letter to the artists that inspired me growing up in Dallas. It’s also a snapshot of a few life chapters from 2020-2023 and I’m glad to let it go. It’s out of my hands now and for you to interpret however you want or need.” Check out the music video for the title track below.
* According to her website, Olivia’s early accomplishments include being named best jazz vocalist in a North American high school by Downbeat Magazine when she was 17 and appearing in an independent film called “The Playroom” in 2012.
* And in 2017, she won an international singing competition run by Scott Bradlee of Postmodeern Jukebox and wound up on tour with the group.
* The Voice won’t be her first appearance in a televised singing competition either. Playing the role of a showgirl, Olivia performed on an episode of the Fox show “I Can See Your Voice” last year. Showing her sense of humor, Olivia posted about it in November, writing: “Throwback to the time I put a bird on my head and sang Céline Dion with no pants on for my favorite member of @nsync.”
* Olivia has also done backing vocals for Teddy Swims and will be joining him on tour later this year, according to her website bio.
* And she’s released a couple of singles as part of a three-woman group called Dear Ivy. You can check those out on popular streaming sites.
