His audition: Omar Cardona, 33, of Orlando, Fla., performed “Separate Ways” by Journey. Omar’s energetic performance prompted an almost immediate chair turn from John Legend. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani followed quickly. A big note at the end enticed Camila Cabello to turn as well, making Omar the second four-chair turn of Season 22. John complimented him on his “crazy range” and said he’s the kind of artist who could win The Voice. Omar joined Team Legend.

Here’s more about Omar:

* He’s from Orlando and has been singing for a living ever since graduating high school in 2007.

* According to his Instagram, he spent 13 years working with Disney in a variety of capacities, including performing in parks and recording vocals for Disney shows.

* He’s also provided background vocals for Disney star Jordan Fisher, including on his 2020 single “Walking on the Ceiling.”

* Omar has collaborated on the award-winning a cappella group Voice Play, providing vocals on a trio of singles including covers of “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas and “Dream On” by Aerosmith.

* In February, they teamed up for a cover of “The Dragonborn Comes.” Wrote Omar about the release: “All you Skyrim fans will love this. So much fun! Music and video games. It doesn’t get any better then that.” Check out the music video below. Omar is the fourth guy you’ll see as the video opens.

* In a SoundBetter.com profile, Omar lists his inspirations as Michael Jackson, Usher, Dirty Loops and Jon Bellion.

* In 2017, he got to perform a full show of Michael Jackson music with the Lexington (Kent.) Philharmonic at a Picnic in the Parks event and called it “a dream come true.”

* He’s also been performing with an Orlando-based event band called the Epic Party Band, specializing in pop and dance music.
