Meet the Morgan Twins of Team Blake on The Voice

Season 4 of The Voice kicked off with a first-of-its-kind audition.

Thank the Morgan Twins.

The Morgan Twins of Team Blake on The Voice. (NBC Photo)Sisters Cara and Rhian became the first set of twins to try out for the show.

And they did so in fine fashion, convincing all four judges to spin around for their version of “Fallin’.”

If I recall correctly, it was one of only two four-chair turn-arounds on the opening night of Season 4.

They wound up choosing to join Team Blake, which isn’t surprising, considering their background.

They’ve been performing country-rock in the Rochester, N.Y., area and, at one point, fronted a band called Phoenix.

In a post-audition interview, Cara said the fact that duos do so well in country music is one of the reasons they decided to pick Team Blake.

They’ve been performing since their dad had them try out for a ’60s girls’ group when they were about 13.

They did that for about five years and credit the experience for helping them learn to harmonize so well together.

Even at age 27, the twins say they do nearly everything together.

Except their full-time jobs. Cara is a mental health therapist; Rhian works in the insurance industry.

Yes, they are aware of the duo curse on The Voice. In three seasons, no duo has made it past the battle round.

But Cara says the fact that each of them has a security blanket — one another — on stage when they perform should be a benefit, because they’ll be less nervous.

Then there’s this: “Hopefully, because we’re the same person, same DNA, we’re not really a duo,” Cara adds.

And here’s a bit of trivia, 10 years ago, at age 17, guess what show the gals tried out for?

That’s right, American Idol. With the very same song, “Fallin’.”

Here’s the video to prove it, followed by two of their performances as the Morgan Twins.

Update: Lost to Justin Rivers during the battle round. They were asked to sing “Easy.”
