Might be time for Michael Bublé’s elimination on The Voice

For the second time in three weeks, fans of The Voice are blasting Michael Bublé for a knockout round decision.

The criticism is well deserved and comes during what has turned out to be a piss-poor second season as coach for the Canadian pop artist.

During the knockouts that aired Monday night, Carlos Santiago delivered an emotional, heartfelt tribute to his wife, singing Calum Scott’s “You Are the Reason.” He even sang a bit of the song in Spanish.

But instead of advancing Carlos, Michael awarded the knockout win to Adam David, who had turned in a solid, but less impressive performance, singing Allen Stone’s “Unaware.”

Viewers commenting on The Voice’s own Instagram page were baffled.

Here’s a sampling of their reactions:

* “I’m sorry but Carlos is by far one of the better singers in this year’s competition. I’m not sure how he didn’t win that.”

* “That was so beautiful!! Ridiculous he was sent home. Crazy nuts!”

* “How was he not chosen?? He is SO GOOD!”

* “Last season Michael was much better as a judge. This season he has been dropping the ball a lot. Carlos should have gone through!”

* “Why does Michael always pick the wrong contestant?? WTF? First Simone and now Carlos. Carlos was robbed.”

By Simone, that individual is referring to Simone Marijic.

In an even more stunning decision, Michael advanced Barry Jean Fontenot and eliminated Simone in a knockout that aired two weeks ago.

That’s in spite of Simone’s stirring version of “She Used to be Mine.” It was simply one of the best performances we’ve seen on The Voice this season, and instead of advancing to the playoffs, Simone — like Carlos — headed home.

All this comes on the heels of a historically bad blind audition performance for Michael.

He failed to land a single three- or four-chair turn, the first coach to suffer that fate since Gwen Stefani in Season 19, a season in which coaches only had 10 artists per team.

The 12 members of is team turned a combined 19 chairs in the blinds, eight fewer than any other coach’s team. And Michael had to turn 36 times to fill his team; John Legend and Adam Levine landed 12 singers with just 22 chair turns.

Next comes the playoffs. Did Michael use his battle and knockout round steals to strengthen his team?

Not if you’re judging it by chair turns. He still doesn’t have a three- or four-chair turn. In fact, the five artists he’s taking into the playoffs turned just seven chairs in the blinds.

That compares to 13 for Team Kelsea, 16 for Team Legend and 18 for Team Adam.

In fact, it wouldn’t be hard to argue that Michael’s two most impressive contestants — Simone and Carlos — will be watching the playoffs from home.

Look, Michael seems like a great guy. If anything, he might have been too nice when making pitches for artists during the blinds.

And he seems to genuinely care about his artists. To his credit, he gave Simone his phone number after the she was eliminated, and she says they’ve spoken since.

But eliminating Simone? Eliminating Carlos? Those were truly head-scratching decisions.

It might be time to eliminate Michael Bublé from future seasons of the show.

Here are those performances. You be the judge.
