Morgan Wallen scored a Top 30 country hit with his single “The Way I Talk.”
He might have an even bigger hit on his hands with his recently released followup.
He certainly has some added star power this time around.
The party song “Up Down” features an assist from Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line fame.
The song entered the Billboard Hot County Songs chart at number 40 this week and already has more than 2 million streams on Spotify.
“Five years ago, I never would have thought that I would have them on my song,” Morgan told PEOPLE, which debuted the music video. You can check that out below. “It’s really kind of crazy how it all unfolded.”
The song was written by Brad Clawson, Michael Hardy and CJ Solar. And the guys from Florida George Line told People they asked Morgan if they could appear on “Up Down” after hearing the song.
In fact, the boat featured in the music video belongs to Brian.
Morgan and the guys from Florida Georgia Line got to know one another when Morgan opened on some of the country duo’s tour dates.
It’s all a sign of how far Morgan, 25, has come since appearing on Season 6 of The Voice. He advanced to the Top 20 before being eliminated. In fact, the final song he sang on the show as “Stay” by none other than Florida Georgia Line.
Signed to Big Loud Records, Morgan’s first major release came last summer in the form of a five-track EP also named “The Way I Talk.”
Morgan has a number of tour dates coming up, including a Friday night show at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pa., where he’ll be opening for Chris Lane.
You can check out all those tour dates on his website or Facebook page.
