The American Idol album drought is about to end.
On Tuesday, we’ll get new albums from a pair of Idol runners-up, Crystal Bowersox and David Archuleta.
And if anyone can’t wait to hear David’s new material, just head over to Billboard, where those fine folks are streaming the entire album.
After listening to the aptly-titled “No Matter How Far” three times, here’s my prediction.
David fans will have just one complaint. That the album is too short at just 10 tracks.
The release comes while David is still serving a two-year mission with his church in South America.
So we’re left with polished up demos and outtakes that I suppose weren’t considered good enough to place on David’s first two pop albums.
To the credit of David and the producers, the album doesn’t come across as a collection of left-over tracks.
David has served up some magnificent vocals, especially on the lead single “Don’t Run Away,” “I’ll Never Go” and “Wait.” And “Heart Falls Out” sounds like a catchy second single.
The album also includes “Forevermore,” the lead track from the 2012 album by the same name that was released in the Philippines.

What can i say that you didn’t say on your comment. The album is awesome. I love all the tracks on there. Can’t choose a favorite yet. But if you want to listen to a beautiful love song song! sung by the Archuleta and his beautiful vocals, have a listen to FOREVERMORE, it will make you fall in love all over again.Can’t wait till tue 3/26.” NO MATTER HOW FAR PREMIERS.” What an ARCHUMAZING day that will be for all the ARCHIES! & the whole world to listen to some of those great songs by DAVID ARCHULETA!
Thanks for the really nice write-up on David’s latest album. I listened to the preview at Billboard & my faves are Nothing Else Better To Do and Heart Falls Out, but all the songs are beautiful and the vocals are stellar as usual! Can’t wait for my CD!

Your write up was really nice. Thank you! I think Hearts Fall Out and Notice Me are two of my favorites but that could change. The producers did a great job of making these sound new…… And all of David’s fans are wishing that his mission was a two hour mission. LOL.
This album has some incredible vocals and songs. Oh yeah…Heart Falls Out definitely needs to be the next single…very catchy. Pre-ordered and downloading from iTunes in just a couple days…can’t wait.
