New post-Voice music out includes singles from Jacquie (formerly Jacquie Lee), Chance Pena and The Shades.

Here’s a bit about each of those releases.

The links take you to the songs on Apple Music.

* Jacquie, the Season 5 runner-up as Jacquie Lee, is back with her second recent single. This one is called “I’m a Bitch” and is accompanied by a music video, directed by Carl Scruby and Joseph Killeen. It’s Jacquie’s second totally independent release under No Budget Records, following “Five Two.” Oh, and happy birthday to Jacquie, who just turned 23.

* Chance Pena from Season 9 has released a song called “War” about not wanting to go to war with the other half of a faltering relationship. Chance says it’s a song he wrote by a campfire and produced alone in his bedroom. We last heard from Chance when he collaborated with Ocean Pleasant on a song called “Undone” back in May.

* The Shades, featuring Andrew DeMuro from Season 11, on lead vocals, released a new song called “Running.” It’s the first of three singles the Chicago-based band plans to release this summer. “It was a challenging time for all of us to navigate,” they say of the pandemic, “but crafting music in the studio helped us remain connected and artistically fulfilled while we were away from the stage.” The Shades also performed their new single Friday on Windy City Live, a local ABC talk show.
