He certainly wasn’t the flashiest member of a cast that included the likes of Quentin Alexander and Qaasim Middleton.
He certainly wasn’t the risk-taker among a group that included Jax and Joey Cook.
But he was probably the most consistent performer during Season 14.
Not to mention the contestant who peaked at the right time.
His most recent performances were his best, and Keith Urban predicted Tuesday night he would win American Idol by a narrow margin.
With a Top 30 iTunes hits already in his hands, Nick Fradiani became American Idol’s Season 14 champ Wednesday night.
As he launched into “Beautiful Life” at the end of Wednesday’s episode, he initially seemed unphased by the announcement that he had beaten Clark Beckham in the Idol finale.
But he bent over and stopped singing after hugging Keith Urban at the judges table, then stopped performing altogether for a large portion of the song while he exchanged congratulations with his family.
Here are photos from Nick’s victory.
