For the first time since Season 5, the debut album from the American Idol runner-up will not be available during the holiday shopping season. But there will be a Jessica Sanchez album, the teen told The Hollywood Reporter last week (full interview here).
“Don’t Rush,” the duet Kelly Clarkson unveiled at the CMA Awards with Vince Gill, debuted on the Billboard music charts this week. The song debuted at number 97 on the Hot 100, 25 on the country chart and number 35 on the digital download chart.
The Voice has gone through blind auditions, battle rounds, knockout rounds and live playoffs to whittle a field of 64 contestants to just 12. The finals begin Monday night at 8 p.m., with each singer taking the stage in hopes of gaining viewers’ support.
Voters made Jason Brock the first elimination on The X Factor last week. Jason and Cece Frey were forced to sing to avoid being cut. When the judges deadlocked 2-2 on who to send home, the decision went to fans, who cast the fewest votes for Jason.

Didn’t the performances seem better in week two of the live shows on The X Factor? We can thank Lyric 145 for part of that. Their performance of “Supercali-fragilistic expialidocious” from Mary Poppins was both brazen and brilliant.
So, if I could wave a magic wand, who would I select as a final 12 on The Voice? Well, here’s a combination of who I’d pick and who I think’s going to make it regardless of who I’d prefer.
Well, The Voice indeed beat The X Factor in the Wednesday night ratings victory. But the NBC singing competition also lost a bigger chunk of its audience with the election-prompted switch to Wednesday night than The X Factor did because of the head-to-head competition.

Last night, Trevin Hunte got to close out the show on night 2 of the live playoffs on The Voice. But I thought Sylvia Yacoub delivered the night’s best performance, sitting behind her piano and delivering a passionate rendition of “The One That Got Away.”
