Paul Jolley has released his first post-American Idol country single.

In fact, it hit iTunes Monday, which also happened to be Paul’s 24th birthday.

Paul made the finals on Idol last year and was the second member of the Top 10 eliminated, meaning he finished ninth.

Since then, the only music he had released was a holiday single called “Happy Christmas,” also available on iTunes.

“Healed” will be one track on an upcoming EP, according to Paul’s website.

Earlier this month, the lad from Palmersville, Tenn., told Examiner.com that the song was the clear choice as a lead single.

He co-wrote the song with Mark Irwin and Adam Wood.

“It’s one of those songs that hit you when you’ve found someone that makes you feel really special and important,” Paul told the site.

“It’s a feeling you’ve never felt before – you feel complete. Not many people feel complete, but when you get that completeness, you instantly feel healed, and it’s one of the best feelings in the world.”

When Paul was eliminated from Idol last year, he said he hoped to perform country-pop after his departure from the show.

Two of his most well-received Idol performances were covers of Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” and the Zac Brown Band’s “I Won’t Let You Go.”

Pre-Idol, Paul said he participated in about 100 singing competitions across a four-state area. In 2011, he won the adult division of the Kentucky Opry Talent Search.
