Lee DeWyze, New Idol Music

Pre-orders under way for new Lee DeWyze album

If you hadn’t heard, American Idol Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze has a new album on the way.

And pre-orders are under way.

Lee DeWyze frames coverThe album is called “Frames” and is set for an Aug. 20 release.

Right now, iTunes has the deluxe version of the album on pre-order for $12.99.

That deluxe version includes the 13-track basic album plus acoustic versions of all 13 songs — basically two albums for the price of one.

If you want a signed copy of the album or a signed poster, head to Lee’s website and you’ll find several options available.

Lee’s also offering a free download of the in-studio version of “Fight” on his website. I’ve embedded that tune below.

This marks Lee’s first release since his post-Idol album, “Live It Up” (2010), failed to live up to expectations.

In a recent interview with Yahoo Music, he described that album-making process as “one of those too-many-cooks-in-the-kitchen kind of things” and says he thinks the new album is a better indication of who he is as an artist.

“Fight” and “Silver Linings,” released as a single in the spring, are enough to convince me that anyone who tuned Lee out after “Live It Up” should give him a second chance to win them over with his music.
