The results are in. And Cute Boy Idol has hit a new low.
Thursday night, we lost Pia Toscano.
The most personable Idol? No.
But she can sing rings around most of the remaining guys in this competition.
Including Stefano Langone. Including Jacob Lusk. Both of whom landed in the bottom three with her last night.
Including Casey Abrams. Including James Durbin. And including Paul McDonald.
But she’s going home.
Hey, she’s a girl.
And this is Cute Boy Idol.
Five girls gone this season.
Not a single guy.
But you know what, this might not be the low.
Remember last year?
Crystal Bowersox was clearly the most talented of the Idol contestants. Yet she lost to Lee DeWyze. Who promptly became the biggest post-Idol flop in the show’s history.
Seriously, the way the voting goes these days, does anyone out there seriously think Kelly Clarkson could beat Justin Guarini?
Or that Carrie Underwood could beat Bo Bice?
Heck, the way the voting goes these days, Constantine Maroulis probably would have won season four. Horror of horrors.
Did you hear those boos from the crowd Thursday night, Nigel Lythgoe?
They were booing your show.
And deservingly so.

So who thought the talent (I use that term lightly) on Thursday was terrible. Iggy Pop. Please Idol I would have rather seen JLo or Steven. Of all the talent they could have gotten. Let the contestents sing if nothing else. They would have been better. Just my 2 cents.
