People is reporting that Ruben will compete in the 15th Season of The Biggest Loser.

The site is also reporting that this isn’t the first time the Season 2 champ has tried to tackle his weight.

He said his family has a history of high blood pressure, diabetes and heart-related issues.

“Things I didn’t have to deal with yet because I’m young. But I don’t want to be worried at 40, and if I don’t fix things now, I will be.”

Ruben recently tweeted the question: “Are you ready for the return of the Velvet Teddy Bear?”

No idea whether this is what he was referring to or not.

Ruben’s last musical release was the 2012 album “Letters from Birmingham,” featuring the single “I’m Single.”

The Biggest Loser returns Oct. 8.
