Scotty McCreery announces end to 5-year album drought

Scotty McCreerry Seasons Change Scotty McCreey has announced that he’ll release his first album in five years next spring.

The album, due out March 16, will be called “Seasons Change.” That’s the album art at right.

“Seasons Change” is available for pre-order now from Scotty’s website. In fact, $7.99 will get you a signed CD and a video message from Scotty. And postage is free. Sounds like a bargain to me.

Other “Seasons Change” bundles are available from Scotty’s website. As of Jan. 12, you’ll be able to pre-order the album from iTunes and Amazon as well.

Scotty revived a foundering country music career earlier this year with the hit single “Five More Minutes.”

The song is now sitting at number 17 on Billboard’s Hot County Singles and Country Airplay charts, and still climbing 30 weeks after debuting on those charts.

What’s more, Billboard just named it one of the Top 10 country songs of 2017.

The new album will feature 11 songs, all of which Scotty co-wrote. That compares to five songwriting credits on his last album, “See You Tonight,” released in October 2013.

“It’s kind of my journal of the last few years: the ups and the downs,” Scotty explains in the press release announcing the album.

As for that title?

“Whenever I think things are not going well, I’ve learned to just wait it out because the seasons change,” explains the 24-year-old, who was 17 when he won Season 10 of American Idol.
