The remaining artists on Team Legend performed in The Voice live playoffs Monday night.

Three advance Tuesday, two based on fan voting, one via a coach’s save.

Here are my song by song grades.

Shadale, “Love on the Brain” by Rihanna — Season 21 is loaded with female R&B talent, but since the blinds Shadale has impressed me as most pop star ready with her combination of attitude, style and vocal firepower. This song choice allowed her to put all three on display. Loved the growl in her performance. This should have earned her the right to advance. Grade: A–

Joshua Vacanti, “You and I” by Lady Gaga — This song choice makes more sense when you remember that Joshua has a background in musical theater. Still, I’m not sure Voice fans are going to feel super compelled to vote for Joshua singing Lady Gaga. But remember, he was a surprise standout in the knockouts and he didn’t disappoint vocally. Grade: B–

Jershika, “Beggin'” by The Four Seasons — I wind up smiling every time I watch Jershika perform because she brings such energy to the stage. This performance was no different. She started behind a mic stand, but she didn’t stay there for long. She wound up prowling the stage as she attacked the song and reminded Kelly that it was a mistake to let her leave her team. And how about those extended glory notes? Grade: B+

David Vogel, “Slow Burn” by Kacey Musgraves — David’s specialty on The Voice has been flipping songs recorded by females and he tried it again here. The thing is, in being saved by John Legend, he wound up on the same team as vocalists like Shadale and Jershika. And, well, his indie rock vibe would probably fair better on a team without such amazing vocalists. Grade: B–

Samuel Harness, “So Sick” by Ne-Yo — This was my least favorite performance from Samuel since Season 21 started. But that rasp, that distinct tone and the emotion he delivers every time he steps on stage still make him my favorite male performer on Season 21. Hopefully fans will keep previous performances in mind, if necessary, when voting on who should advance from Team Legend. Grade: B
