Still time to vote for Phillip Phillips in the AMAs

If you’re a fan of past American Idol contestants, there are two good reasons to watch The American Music Awards on ABC Sunday at 8 p.m.

Carrie Underwood is nominated for female country artist of the year.

And Phillip Phillips is nominated for new artist of the year.

In fact, there’s still time to vote for Phillip in that category. Just head here.

His competition includes Florida Georgia Line, Ariana Grande, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and the Imagine Dragons.

Phillip, of course, performed a sold out show in York a little more than a week ago. If you missed the photos (there’s a sample at right) and the story from that show, head here.

As for Carrie, she’s up against the tough twosome of Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift for the female country honors.

Like I said, Those are the only two nominations for former American Idol contestants.

But Blake Shelton is nominated for favorite male country artist alongside Hunter Hayes and Luke Bryan.

And Adam Levine’s Maroon 5 is nominated as favorite adult contemporary artist along with Bruno Mars and Pink.

The nominees for artist of the year: Justin Timberlake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Bruno Mars.
