Cole, Matt and James score iTunes hits on The Voice

I doubt many of you will be surprised to find out that Matthew Schuler has another iTunes hit on his hands this morning.

But what if I told you that so does Cole Vosbury?

The bearded one’s version of “To Be with You” was actually the most successful song of the Top 10 night on The Voice, landing at number 15 this morning on iTunes overall singles chart when voting officially ended at 11 a.m.

Cole’s performance struck me as rather odd. The background singers carried the melody for a couple of extended stretches while Cole did little more than strum his guitar, making me wonder if there were sound problems on the Voice stage.

It mattered not to Cole’s fans. The song was also sitting at number one on iTunes’ rock chart when voting ended.

As for Matthew, his show-closing version of “Beneath Your Love” came in at number 19 on iTunes, closely followed by Lancaster’s James Wolpert at number 21 with “Without You.”

In fact, while none of the songs from Monday’s episode matched Matthew’s top-two success with “Hallelujah” last week, they were tightly grouped on iTunes.
