The Voice knockout round will air over the next two Monday nights as the field gets whittled down for the Season 25 playoffs.
Each team has seven singers remaining, but one of those has a playoff pass, meaning they’ll get to skip this round.
That leaves three knockouts matches per team with the singers going head to head on solo songs of their choosing.
Each coach has one steal this round. That means eight of the 24 singers competing in the knockouts will be eliminated.
That will leave each team with a newly stolen singer, three knockout round winners and a playoff pass recipient heading into the playoffs on April 22.
Here’s a look at Team Chance.
Best so far: I’d give a slight edge to Maddi Jane, with this caveat. Her blind audition song choice wasn’t the type that appeals to the show’s older voting bloc. She became a child star covering classics. We’ll learn more about her Voice strategy via her knockout round song choice.
Most likely to make the playoffs: This team lost a four-chair turn in the battles and is still stacked because Maddi, Dani Stacy and Serenity Arce all turned four as well. Because her battle was montaged, fans haven’t seen Dani perform since the season premiere. Serenity, bouncing back after failing to make the show two years ago, makes for a great storyline and is still just 17. And, of course, playoff pass recipient Nadège is a lock.
The team
Alyssa Crosby, 32, turned just Reba’s chair in the blinds with her version of Alanis Morissette’s “Hand in Pocket.” She was then stolen by Chance after losing her battle to Asher HaVon. They performed “We Don’t Need Another Hero” by Tina Turner.
Dani Stacy, 31, of Hanford, Calif. turned 4 chairs in the blinds with Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.” She then won her battle with Corey Curtis. They performed “Best Part” by H.E.R.
Kamalei Kawa’a, 26, turned 2 chairs in the blinds with his performance of Bob Marley’s “The Redemption Song.” He then won his battle match with Gabriel Goes. They performed an island-vibe version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
Maddi Jane, 25, turned 4 chairs in the blinds singing “Escapism” by RAYE and 070 Shake. She then ‘won’ her battle with Nadège, who got a playoff pass. They performed “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”
Nadège, 26, turned 2 chairs in the blinds, performing “Get You” by Daniel Caesar. She then ‘lost’ her battle with Maddi Jane, but landed a playoff pass. They performed “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”
Rletto, 27, of Orlando, Fla., turned 2 chairs in the blinds, performing “Golden Hour” by JVKE. He then won his battle round match with Val T. Webb. They sang “Saving All My Love for You” by Whitney Houston.
Serenity Arce, 16, of Jupiter, Fla., turned 4 chairs in the blinds, performing “This City” by Sam Fischer. She won her battle with Bri Fletcher. They sang “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi.
