Beginning tonight, popularity will count on The Voice.

No longer will the decision of who survives and who goes home be left entirely to the coaches.

So who’s most popular?

On Twitter, the answer is easy: Tessanne Chin.

The Jamaica native entered the competition with the biggest fan base — she has in excess of 200,000 fans on Facebook — and her 62,000 Twitter followers are more than five times the number any other contestant among The Voice’s top 20 has.

Three other Voice contestants have passed the 10,000 mark in Twitter followers — Matthew Schuler and Caroline Pennell, each with nearly 13,000; and Jacquie Lee with more than 11,000.

Matthew Schuler has been one of the most heavily promoted contestants on the show, so his support isn’t surprising.

More surprising is the fan base Jacquie Lee, 16, and Caroline, 17, have amassed from their exposure on the show bnecause they are two of the youngest contestants left on the show.

Keep in mind, these aren’t always an accurate reflection of the way fans will vote. Angie Miller was the most popular Season 12 American Idol contestant on Facebook and Twitter last spring, but finished third on the show.
