OK, I’ve already expressed my opinion.
I think Candice Glover won the night on American Idol and I think she should win the Season 12 crown.
But what are others saying? Does Kree Harrison stand a chance?
Here’s a sampling:
Michael Slezak at TVLine.com: As congenial as the Candice-Kree relationship may be, and as evenly matched as the ladies appeared through the course of the night, it was Ms. Glover who ended the evening with a brutal left hook that should (but might not necessarily) put her in the history books alongside Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks — the franchise’s four previous female winners.
Brian Mansfield, USA Today: After three performances each from Candice Glover and Kree Harrison, no obvious winner emerged. Both singers gave strong performances across the board, and both ended with their best.
M.J. Santilli, msjbigblog.com: I love me some Kreedom, but dang if Candice didn’t win all 3 rounds…
Rolling Stone: Although the competition between Kree and Candice is neck and neck, Kree made one bad decision: She won the coin toss and chose to go first. No one chooses to go first, especially not on Idol, where the final spot is usually reserved for the most memorable performance of the night.

Kevin Rutherford, Billboard.com: “I feel like you have to go with Candice. While Kree’s first performance of the evening was slightly more endearing, Glover went hard during her last two songs, especially in the all-important coronation tune. Plus, her performances leading up to this week have always been stellar, with very minimal missteps. The same can’t be said for Harrison, who finally woke up tonight, albeit a bit too late.”
Andrew Payne, Starpulse.com: (Candice’s last song) “was a masterful performance that made Angie’s not being included seem a little less tragic. … Candice should win. Candice better win.”
Bill King, BuddyTV.com: Even if Kree somehow pulls this off, we all know who the real winner is. Candice crushed it, and left us on the best note.
Brandon Barker, americanidol.net: Who should win has as fuzzy an answer as who will win. I say the answers aren’t clear because both Kree Harrison and Candice Glover are worthy and both have been pretty equal throughout this season. If we’re just going on last night’s finale performances, then Candice is the clear winner.
RealityWanted.com: Candice’s last performance sealed it – she definitely had the stronger night. Should she win? Based on the performances tonight, I’ll say yes. I still love Kree and believe she’ll find a great niche in the country market, but Candice’s voice is on another level.
