The most entertaining singing show on television returns Monday night.

And I’m eager to see what strategy the Season 8 contestants on The Voice take when it comes to picking a coach.

We have another new combination of judges — with Pharrell Williams joining three of the originals, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

During the Season 7 blind auditions, it seemed everyone wanted to be on Team Adam or Team Pharrell. Twelve singers turned all four chairs. Six decided to join Team Adam; four opted for Team Pharrell.

Meanwhile, only one picked Team Blake. And the show’s winningest coach wound up with five contestants on his 12-member team that only he turned around for.

We all know what happened, of course. Craig Wayne Boyd of Team Blake captured the Season 7 crown, giving the country coach four wins in seven seasons.

Pharrell, meanwhile, struggled with song choice and failed to advance a single singer to the finale.

So, if I’m a Season 8 contestant, which team am I going to lean toward?

Team Christina, of course.

Here’s my logic. We’re eight seasons deep into The Voice. A female coach has not had a winner yet. Producers might want to change that. And while producers can’t dictate how America votes, they can determine things like the order of performance.

Yep, I’d join Team Christina.

And not mind one little bit if I wound up being stolen by Blake at some point in the competition.

Check back Monday night. I’ll be live blogging throughout the first blind audition show of the season, then following up later with profile blogs on contestants who land a spot on the show.

Meanwhile, if you’d like to know what past contestant’s have been up to, head here.
