Well, it looks like Will Champlin got the breakout performance he needed on The Voice.
And he did it with the most unlikely of songs — Etta James’ “At Last.”
I say unlikely because the song dates to 1941 and was a hit for James in the early 1960s.
Not the sort of song you expect a Voice artist to turn into an iTunes hit.
But this morning when voting ended, there was Will at the top of The Voice’s iTunes pack.
Heck, he even cracked the Top 10, landing at number eight on iTunes overall singles download chart.
Also cracking the top 20 for The Voice were Cole Vosbury and Lancaster’s James Wolpert.
In fact, Cole also landed at number one on the country chart. James landed at the top of the rock chart with Queen’s “Somebody to Love.”
And Tessanne Chin was at the top of the reggae chart, even though her song from last night was fifth most popular on the overall chart.
Landing at the very bottom of the Top 8 on iTunes — Matthew Schuler, who looked like the front-runner entering Monday’s show.
Matthew’s version of “It’s Time” landed at number 85 on iTunes, 29 spots behind his closest competitor.
Here’s a look at where everyone landed when voting ended.
#8: Will Champlin, “At Last” — number 6 on pop chart
#13: Cole Vosbury, “I Still Believe in You” — number 1 on country chart
#16: James Wolpert, “Somebody to Love” — number 1 on rock chart
#21: Jacquie Lee, “Who’s Loving You Now” — number 13 on pop chart
#24: Caroline Pennell, “The Dog Days are Over” — number 4 on alternative chart
#25: Tessanne Chin, “Underneath It All” — number 1 on reggae chart
#56: Ray Boudreaux, “Gimme Some Lovin'” — number 2 on rock chart
#85: Matthew Schuler, “It’s Time” — number 10 on alternative chart
