Two questions pop to mind as we prepare for tonight’s episode of The X Factor. 1. Could Demi Lovato lose both of her remaining singers tonight? 2. Where in the world is Melanie Amaro?
OK, so Phillip Phillips didn’t match Scotty McCreery’s first-week chart success as an Idol winner. If you haven’t heard, Phillips’ debut album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 earlier today.
The remaining eight on The X Factor tackle number one hits tonight. And you have to figure three of the singers will hit the stage knowing they need to do very well to have any chance of staying in the competition.
This is Number 1’s Week on The X Factor, which means the Top 8 get to perform number one hits from the past. Now that’s what I call a nice broad theme that should allow all of the singers to select something in their wheelhouse. And just what The X Factor needs to build on…
A word of advice to remaining contestants on The Voice. If your coach utters the word “versatility” and it isn’t your idea or something you’re completely comfortable with, stomp your feet, pout, throw a diva fit. Plead for a different song.
So who’s in danger tonight on The Voice? Wow, tough question.

Back before viewer voting began on The Voice, I checked out each contestant’s Facebook and Twitter pages to see who was most popular in the world of social media. Three weeks later, with the field narrowed from 20 to eight, the answer hasn’t changed.
