The Voice introduced viewers to four more contestants from Season 23 Tuesday night.
Magnus (Martin), Kala Banham, Carlos Rising and the trio of Sheer Element earned spots on the show.
Sheer Element is made up of Izzy Faye, Tabon Ward and JEJ Vinson, who met as students at the University of Southern California.
And JEJ made Voice history, becoming the first artist to win spots on two seasons of The Voice. He competed as a solo singer in Season 16.
Here’s a recap of Tuesday’s show. Remember, following the links will take you to a full profile on the artist. Sheer Element and Carlos Rising have already released music.
BEST OF THE NIGHT
Kala Banham, 24, Windermere, Fla., “Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell: Kala’s angelic tone prompted enthusiastic chairs turns from Niall Horan and Kelly Clarkson, but Kelly was blocked. Chance later joined them. Combine that tone with the power Kala showed when the song swelled is something amazing. Chance loved her unique voice and her control. Niall praised Kala’s vocals and noted he used his only block in an attempt to land her. Kala joined Team Niall.
Also made the show
Sheer Element (Izzy Faye, Tabon Ward, Jej Vinson), Los Angeles, Calif, “Leave the Door Open” by Bruno Mars and Silk Sonic: While the other coaches were trying to figure out how many singers were on stage, their harmonies prompted a quick chair turn from Chance the Rapper. By the end of the song Niall Horan and Kelly Clarkson turned as well. Chance called the presentation insane. Kelly called the performance “so good” and promised to help the trio with song selection. Niall noted the he was part of a group and most of his major musical influences are groups. Kelly harmonies so tight. The group picked Kelly, Jej’s coach when he appeared on The Voice in Season 16.
Carlos Rising, 28, Wilmington, N.C., Change the World by Eric Clapton: Carlos nice tone with a touch of rasp prompted a quick chair turn from Blake Shelton. Kelly Clarkson turned around at the very last second. Blake called Carlos an incredible artist. And Carlos decided to join Team Blake.
Magnus (Martin), 25, Virginia Beach, Va., “Sarah Smiles” by Hall and Oates: Two words from Magnus and Chance the Rapper was already facing in his direction. In spite of some impressive vocal acrobatics from Magnus, Chance wound up being the only coach to turn, meaning he automatically landed Magnus.
