Bradley Rittman of American Idol Season 22

Idol returns to ABC on Sunday, Feb. 18 with the coaching trio of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan back intact.

Here’s more about Bradley.

* He’s 22 and a student at the Berklee College of Music.

* He hints at his Idol audition in a 22nd birthday post from mid-January writing, “this year’s gonna be a special one. So many things in motion that I can’t wait to share with y’all.”

* While studying at Berklee, he’s been busking on the streets of Boston with friend Ryan Peter Murphy.

* The two were regulars at an event called Open Newberry, the city’s attempt to enliven Newberry Street with a pedestrian street fair atmosphere on Sundays.

* Bradley told The Daily Free Press the event was helpful in helping artists gauge how they were viewed by the public. ” “It’s a good way for us to get out of the Berklee bubble, honestly, and get reactions from people who aren’t musicians,” he told the newspaper.

* Busking in Boston also provided him with an American Idol experience of sorts.

* In late November, former Idol standout and talk show host Jennifer Hudson visited Boston to help with the city’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

* She also visited with some of the buskers and wound up singing a snippet of “Silent Night” with Bradley and Ryan, an experience they happily documented on Instagram.

* And in late January, that led to Bradley and Ryan Peter performing on The Jennifer Hudson Show. Check out their performance of “Tennessee Whiskey” below.

* Bradley has more than 74,000 followers and more than 250,000 likes on his TikTok where his cover of “Tennessee Whiskey” has been viewed nearly 400,000 times and his male flip of Jazmine Sullivan’s “In Love with Another Man” has been viewed more than 100,00 times.
