You won’t hear about it on The Voice, but Michael Bublé suffered through a historically rough blind audition experience on Season 27 of The Voice.

Michael became the first coach since Gwen Stefani in Season 19 not to land a single artist who turned more than two chairs with their blind audition.

And in Season 19, coaches had just 10 artists. This season, coaches have 12.

The last coach with 12 artists and not a single three- or four-chair turn was Adam Levine in Season 14, when his star was fading on his first run on the show.

It’s not as though Michael didn’t try. He turned his chair 36 times during the blinds, seven more than any other coach.

In contrast, John Legend and Adam Levine filled their teams with just 22 chair turns, meaning they won over more than half of the artists they turned for.

Even two-chair turns were a struggle for Michael. He found himself competing for 16 such singers. He landed seven; one of those because he blocked the only other coach to turn. Minus that, he was 6 for 15 in convincing 2-chair turns to join Team Bublé.

Perhaps the guy was being just too nice. He was constantly showering his colleagues with praise as they made their blind audition pitches.

The silver lining for Michael: Gwen Stefani won Season 19 with young Carter Rubin, one of her two-chair turns.

And while Adam Levine didn’t win Season 14, a two-chair turn did — Brynn Cartelli of Team Kelly Clarkson.
