Don’t look now, but the original Idol is well on her way to re-establishing herself as the best-selling Idol.

Kelly Clarkson’s new single, “Mr. Know It All,” hit the Billboard music charts for the first time last week.

How did it do?

Number 9 among top digital singles.

Number 20 among top adult pop songs.

And number 18 on the Hot 100.

All in all, a pretty impressive start for the lead single off her highly-anticipated “Stronger” album, due out Oct. 24.

Among the other Idol-related Billboard chart highlights:

* Speaking of Kelly, her duet with Jason Aldean, “Don’t You Want to Stay,” is now number four on the adult contemporary singles chart. It reached number one on the country singles chart earlier this year.

* Scotty McCreery’s second single, “The Trouble with Girls,” made its Hot 100 debut at number 84. His first single peaked at number 11 on that chart.

* Mandisa’s “Waiting for Tomorrow,” the second single off her new album, zips up from nubmer 35 to 24 on the Christian singles chart just three weeks after its release.

* Two weeks ago, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley hit the top of the country singles chart with “Remind Me.” This week, the song drops from number two to six on that chart.
