Brayden Howell from The Voice Season 30
The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with the coaching quartet of Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
Here’s more about Brayden:
* Brayden is a classic country artist in his late teens from Marshville, N.C.
* And while he doesn’t appear to have released music, he certainly has an interesting back story.
* He says he’s the cousin of Elvis Presley and one of his pinned posts on Instagram features him posing with Priscilla Presley after meeting her last year. Another shows him playing a piano once used by Elvis.
* Brayden’s also a little more than a year removed from brain surgery to correct a condition called Chiari malformation to relieve pressure on his spinal chord.
* Brayden said he’d been suffering symptoms — severe headaches, dizziness, fatigue — for quite a while and it reached the point where his ability to sing was affected as well.
* He underwent bring surgery on Aug. 6, 2025. “I remember wondering if I would ever be able to sing the way I used to, perform again or simply feel like myself again,” he writes in an Aug. 6 anniversary post. “One year later, I’m still here. I’m singing. I’m playing music. I’m living the life I was afraid I might lose.”
* He’s been singing for quite a while, saying in his web bio that he started around age 4, the same time he began learning piano. By age 9, he’d started playing guitar and says “music stopped being something I did and became a part of who I am.”
* He found himself especially drawn to classic country music and has performed extensively, including on his own 18-date “Lookin’ for Love” tour in 2025.
