Luke Cope from The Voice Season 30

His audition: Luke Cope, 33, Kernersville, N.C., “Burning House” by Cam: Luke has a really unique, authentic tone. But he was nearly to the end of his performance before anyone turned. Then Queen Latifah and Adam Levine turned almost simultaneously. Adam called him a “unique one” and complimented the big power he showed at the end of the performance. Kelly Clarkson praised the emotion in his audition. Queen Latifah said she loved the way Luke sang from the heart and said Luke moved her. Luke opted to join Team Latifah, who said he needs to use his emotion as a super power. (Watch his audition below)

Here’s more about Luke:

* He’s a country-leaning singer-songwriter from Kernersville, N.C., who describes his music as “organic roots with southern rock” in his Spotify bio.

* And he has plenty of music you can check out now. Not to mention more on the way.

* In that bio, Luke says he spent years playing in bands near his hometown before picking up songwriting.

* He released a single called “Wings” in 2020, but has been especially prolific since 2024, when his debut EP, “When We Were Young,” was released.

* He released two singles this summer, “Good Light Rain” and “Lady Down Lady.” Check out a snippet of “Good Light Rain” below.

* And Luke released his second EP, the impressive “The Devil and the Crow,” this week. He calls the four-song project the beginning of a new sound and a new direction for his music. There’s certainly an undeniable authenticity to this guy’s music.

* “It walks through a lot of deep, dark times that I’ve experienced in my life,” Luke says of the new EP in a social media post, calling it “a batch of my most vulnerable work.”

* Luke’s also part of a trio called The Travelers with Jon Montgomery and Jacob Vaughn. In fact, they released their first single, appropriately called “Traveler,” in late July.

* On Instagram, The Travelers are described as an acoustic trio with “stunning three-part harmonies, heartfelt story-telling and songs that hit you right in the chest.” They played their first show together in April.

* A married father of three, Luke is also owner and founder of Cope’s Lawn and Turf, a business based in Kernersville, N.C.
