Mia Knight from The Voice Season 30
The Voice returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 21 with the coaching quartet of Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
Here’s more about Mia:
* She’s Mia Leberknight, a 16-year-old singer-songwriter and performer from Holmdel, N.J., with music already released.
* In fact, Mia dropped her first two singles this year, a debut called “Prisoner of My Mind” in January and a follow-up called “Messin'” in early June. Check out a snippet of her pop single “Messin'” below.
* She was also selected to participate in a prestigious Future Music Moguls program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts earlier this year. Mia wrote that she enjoyed “making music and learning about this passion of mine that continues to grow every day.”
* In spite of her young age, she’s put together an impressive list of musical accomplishment. At age 10, she was part of an acapella group that opened for the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
* And at 13, she was selected to join the cast of a national tour called “Hits! The Musical!” The tour visited 48 cites with the young cast covering pop, rock, Hollywood and Broadway hits. Dionne Warwick was one of the producers.
* She’s also honed her skills through the Rockit Academy at Brookdale Community College in New Jersey, playing keys and singing with the academy’s rock band.
* And in 2024, she earned a spot in the semifinals of Amateur Night at the Apollo thanks to her cover of Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman.”
* Mia also plays piano and is a trained dancer. And among her social media posts is one of her singing The Rascals “People Got To Be Free” alongside group founder Eddie Brigati at The Cutting Room in New York.
