The good news on the Billboard music charts for the Idols this week comes in terms of the performance of their singles rather than their albums.
Most Idol-related albums dropped on the charts. Scotty McCreery’s “Clear As Day” dropped out of the top three on the counry chart for the first time since its release 15 weeks ago.
But Idol singles performed well, including …
* Kelly Clarkson’s “Mr. Know It All” remains number one on the adult pop chart. This week marks its fifth straight at the top. The song also reached a new peak of number 11 on the adult contemporary chart.
* It looks like Kelly will have another hit on her hands with “Stronger” (aka “What Doesn’t Kill You”). Just released as a single, it cracks the Billboard Hot 100 at number 58.
* Mandisa’s second single off her third album reached a new high of number five on the Christian singles chart. “Waiting for Tomorrow” follows her own “Stronger” single into the Christian top 10. “Stronger” went all the way to number one.
