The media was apparently barred from the last night’s opening show of Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation Tour in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

RCA declared the tour off limits Wednesday because Adam is such a young performer, according to the Times-Leader newspaper.

Hmm. Let’s see, Adam is 28, with 10 years of theatrical experience prior to Idol.

Seems strange for a performer like Adam, who so often seems to court media attention. Perhaps someone was simply afraid he’d get caught up in the moment and let loose with another AMA-style meltdown, despite his promise to keep the show “tasteful.”

Anyway, a Times-Leader writer purchased a ticket to see the sold-out show and says the part he saw seemed to go off flawlessly. Here’s a link to the Times-Leader coverage, including details on the sets by Allison Iraheta and Orianthi.

CoralMermaid: “I am mesmerized by the sheer beauty of your concert. A feast for all the senses.”

maryliny: “Adam Lambert did a phenomenal singing job. He did not hold back and ready sounded wonderful. ‘Sure Fire Winners’ was worthy of any rock star.”

loveforlambert: “Aftermath and I’m in tears. Thank you. That was so beautiful. The entire arrangement of the concert is flawless.”

I’ve posted the video of Adam singing “Aftermath” at the top of the blog. He does sound amazing. Another reminder of how ridiculous it was that he didn’t win season eight of American Idol.
