Well, former Idol contestants didn’t hold onto two of the top 10 spots on the Billboard 200 for long.

It happened last week, when Daughtry checked in at number two and Jordin Sparks’ new album debuted at number seven.

This week, Daughtry’s “Leave This Town” continues to hang tough, in the number two position for the second straight week after debuting at number one.

But Jordin’s “Battlefield” took a mighty tumble, all the way out of the top 20, all the way to 21.

The week’s other big chart news — a new peak for Kellie Pickler, and a big rebound by Kelly Clarkson.

Here’s a look at how all the Idols fared on the Billboard charts released Thursday.

American Idol Season Eight: The season eight album debuted at number 34 five weeks ago and has dropped every week since. This week, it’s 65, down from 53.

Kelly Clarkson: Under the category of any publicity is good publicity … controvery swirls over whether the same backing track was used for Kelly’s “Already Gone” and Beyonce’s “Halo,” and Kelly’s album jumps from 86 to 59 on the Billboard 200. “I Do Not Hook Up” didn’t rebound, remaining at 61 on the Hot 100 singles chart. It dropped four spots to 25 on the Pop 100.

David Cook: Want a treat? Head to the “Good Morning America” Web site and listen to David covering Fleetwood Mac’s “Little Lies,” while accompanied by Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. But I digress. David’s single “Come Back to Me” drops from 79 to 87 on the Hot 100, but jumps three spots from 20 to 17 on the adult contemporary chart. His debut album is 93 on the Billboard 200, down three spots.

Daughtry: Three weeks at number two or higher? Not a bad start for Chris and the guys’ new album. But it was a week of mixed results for “No Surprise,” the first single from “Leave This Town,” down from 28 to 32 on the Hot 100 but up from 19 to 16 on the adult contemporary chart. Meanwhile, Daughtry’s debut album is 78 on the Billboard 200, up from 84 last week.

Jennifer Hudson: “If This Isn’t Love” fell below number 30 spot on the R&B singles chart for the first time in more than two months, dipping from 29 to 34.

Kellie Pickler: Just as Kelly announces her next single, “Best Days of Your Life” climbs to a new peak of nine on the country singles chart. It’s number 52 on the Hot 100. The album it comes from remains at number 15 on the country chart for the second straight week, and jumps from 72 to 69 on the Billboard 200.

Jordin Sparks: After a big jump from 25 to 10 on the Hot 100 last week, “Battlefield” the single dips back to number 13. It’s number 11 on the Pop 100 chart for the second straight week.

Phil Stacey: With a new Christian album due out in a couple of weeks, Phil’s single “If You’re Not Shaken,” moves from 21 to 19 on the Christian singles chart. The CD, “Into the Light,” hits stores Aug. 25.

Carrie Underwood: Not sure what sparked it, but “Carnival Ride” got a boost this week, after 93 weeks on the chart. It jumped from 88 to 72 on the Billboard 200, from 17 to 16 on the country album chart.

Brooke White: “High Hopes and Heartbreak,” Brooke’s first post-Idol release, fell out of the Billboard 200 after two weeks. Hopefully, it will be back. It’s one of this year’s better Idol releases.
