That wait for Candice Glover’s debut album will be a bit longer than expected.

But, hey, tune in to the MLB all-star game next week, and you’ll get to see Idol’s Season 12 winner.

Candice has been selected to sing the national anthem before next Tuesday’s all-star game on FOX.

She’ll be joined that night by Jennifer Lopez-ex Marc Anthony, who will sing “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch.

Pitbull will perform prior to the Home Run derby the night before the big game.

Now, as for “Music Speaks,” Candice’s debut album …

Candice said today via Twitter that the album, originally set for a July 16 release, has been pushed back to Oct. 8.

“My album is almost done. I’m making the music I’ve always wanted to make, BUT I just want to take a little more time to perfect it for you.”

“I promise it will be worth the wait,” she added.

One fan asked about a second single.

Candice’s first, “I am Beautiful,” didn’t exactly set the music charts on fire.

Candice’s response: “U guys will hear a new song on tour.”

The release date is a little earlier than Idol tradition. Since Season 7, most debut albums from Idol winners have been released the week before Thanksgiving to capitalize on the holiday shopping season.

The exception was Scotty McCreery’s highly successful debut album, which came out Oct. 4.

Candice’s fans took the news in stride.

“Take all the time you need for this first album,” one replied on Twitter. “We’re not going nowhere.”
