Kristen O’Connor is the singing nurse we met during American Idol’s Atlanta auditions.

More specifically, Idol identified the 24-year-old with the million-dollar smile as a nurse tech.

Kristen graduated from the University of Central Florida with a nursing degree in mid-December.

The resident of Sebastian, Fla., has also worked at Florida Hospital, according to her Facebook page.

But while she says she feels she’s doing “something important” at her day job, Kristen also says she wants to make it in the music industry “so bad.”

Kristen took the first step in Atlanta. She sang Billie Holliday’s “Good Morning Heartache” and got a unanimous vote to advance to Hollywood.

In her Road to Hollywood video, Kristen says she’s been dreaming about appearing on Idol since she was a young girl.

Kristen names Christina Aguilera and Jessie J. as musical influences.

“(Jessie J.’s) style and the energy she brings to her music is so exciting. I love that. I’d love to be able to portray that kind of energy and excitement and fun in my music,” Kristen says.

Kristen says the fact that she plays “left-handed guitar” and has a big voice that often surprises people might help her stand out on Idol.

She has a YouTube channel where you can listen to several of her covers. And here’s a link to her Twitter account (@_ThatKO).

Among her latest posts: “When life knocks you down, eat a bunch of candy and get over it.”

Here’s are some examples of Kristen’s vocal abilities.

“Stay” (Rihanna cover)

“Radioactive” (Imagine Dragons cover)

“The Only Exception” (Paramore cover)
