Meet Bria Kelly, Christina Grimmie of The Voice

In an effort to get us pumped up about Season 6 of The Voice, NBC has already leaked two of the auditions.

I’ve embedded the performances by Bria Kelly and Christina Grimmie below.

And if this is an example of the type of talent The Voice is going to showcase in Season 6 … well, they’ve done it again.

Bria sings “Steamroller Blues” for her audition, but she’s not just a blues singer, classifying her genre as country, rock and blues on Facebook.

Put the emphasis on country, because she’s opened for several country performers (including Miranda Lambert) and has a country single on iTunes.

But she can clearly cross genres. The 18-year-old appeared on America’s Got Talent in 2012 and performed Pink’s “Try.”

And, wow, what a voice she displays during her audition.

Want an early favorite for Season 6? Christina Grimmie would be a good bet.

This young lady, just 19, got her start as a YouTube artist, covering popular hits, which is pretty good training ground for a show like The Voice.

And, get this: She has more than 2.1 million likes on Facebook and more than 2.4 million followers for that YouTube channel.

Today she’s branched out, with an EP and a 2013 pop album to her credit. Check out this adorable video to a catchy tune called “Tell My Mama” from that album. Oh, and watch till the end. The ditty played over the closing credits is adorable, too.

Anyway, the one thing The Voice videos don’t tell us is whose team Bria and Christina wind up on. We might find that out when Season 6 kicks off Monday at 8 p.m.

Check back then. I’ll be live blogging every episode. And following up with meet-the-artist blogs on every singer who lands on a team.

Editor’s note: Followers of The Voice will notice a couple of new features in this blog. Go to the blue bar at top, click on The Voice and you’ll find a list of all the singers who have landed on teams through Season 5. The links, in most cases, lead you to a bio of each singer. Click on “After The Voice,” and you’ll find a rundown of the music past contestants have released since they appeared on the show, through the end of 2013. If I missed anything, let me know. I’m also now tweeting Voice related items under a Voice specific Twitter account — aptly called VoiceViews — for those of you who don’t follow that other singing show. Live blogging for Season 6 starts Monday.

Now, those videos …
