Will Champlin is back with his first post-Voice single.

The popular Season 5 contestant from The Voice released “Last Man Standing” to iTunes on Monday.

As of noon Tuesday, the song had advanced to the top 40 on iTunes alternative songs chart.

And Will was promising a free live Ustream show and Q&A if fans manage to get the song into the Top 20.

Will, of course, was actually the last man standing during Season 5 of the Voice. He finished third behind Jacquie Lee and Team Adam colleague Tessanne Chin.

There’s likely more new music to come. In a Clean Hair commercial on The Voice website, he says “resilience is what’s going to get me there to get this album out.”

The Clear Hair connection? Apparently they are sponsoring an upcoming tour featuring Voice artists. Will, Jacquie Lee, Tessanne and Dia Frampton from Season 1 have signed on so far. More details to come, I’m sure.

Meanwhile, you might want to check out Will’s revamped website.

It comes complete with a fun facts and useless knowledge section where we learn that Will will freak out if someone tricks him into touching gum that’s already been chewed.

Ah, but today’s topic is music, so here’s the single. Listen and you might decide to help him reach that Top 20 goal.
