A new album coming for Tony Lucca fans

Looks like fans of Tony Lucca will have a new full-length album to look forward to in late summer or early fall.

The Season 2 finalist on The Voice launched a Kickstarter campaign last month to fund a new album.

Tony Lucca is closing in on the end of a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund his new album.

Tony Lucca is closing in on the end of a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund his new album.

Within 36 hours, he reached his initial goal of raising $25,000.

He’s already surpassed his first stretch goal of $40,000, meaning the new album will be accompanied by an EP of acoustic tracks, demos and B sides from the project.

And with four days left in the campaign, he’s shooting for a second stretch goal of $60,000.

What happens then?

Tony says he’s always dreamed of releasing an album on vinyl, like the kind he used to listen to as a kid. If he hits that $60,000 mark, he’ll release one.

As of Saturday morning, his Kickstarter campaign was sitting just shy of $47,000.

Of course, it would get a big boost if someone would claim the fedora Tony wore when he covered Britney Spears’ “Baby, One More Time” on The Voice.

It can be yours for a $3,000 donation, along with lots of other goodies, of course, including a digital download of the album and a signed copy of the CD.

Tony finished third on Season 2 of The Voice, behind winner Jermaine Paul and runner-up Juliet Simms.

He then signed with Adam Levine’s 222 records and released a six-track EP called “With the Whole World Watching” in July 2013.

That EP included the excellent single “Never Gonna Let You Go,” which I’ve embedded below, and “Never in a Million,” a song co-written by American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen.

He also released an acoustic EP called “Drawing Board” in March that includes five tracks. Make sure to check out “Nashville” on iTunes.
