He has a six-track EP called “Make Hope” that will hit iTunes on Tuesday.

And one of those tracks, “Fresh,” is already available, both as a download and in video form, as you’ll see at right.

Now 33, Nicholas placed third on Season 3 of The Voice behind winner Cassadee Pope and runner-up Terry McDermott.

This is his second post-Voice EP. He released the four-track “Say Goodbye” in June 2013.

According to a press release promoting the new EP, “Make Hope” was inspired by Nicholas’ connection to the Midwest. He calls the St. Paul, Minn., area home.

And at least three of the tunes are inspired by and dedicated to family members, including “Fresh,” “Something Big” and “Monster’s Sleep,” which he calls an R&B lullaby.

“Something Big” has special significance.

It’s “a melody I wrote being with my grandfather as he was dying,” Nicholas says in the release. “I share his gift of music, and my hands are his hands.”
