Season 9 of The Voice begins Monday night.

But before the coaches’ chairs start turning, here are some things to keep in mind.

1. Tons of stock is put into turning four chairs in a blind audition. But in Season 8, three of the seven singers who turned four chairs didn’t survive to see the live rounds. In Season 7, five singers who turned four chairs bowed out of the competition before the Top 20.

2. The Voice has had 28 finalists over eight seasons; 10 turned two chairs of less in the blind audition round, including Joshua Davis and Koryn Hawthorne, each of whom turned two in Season 8. In fact, the only four-chair-turn recipient in last season’s four-singer finale was the winner, Sawyer Fredericks.

3. All that said, a singer with just one chair turn has never won The Voice. The only one who made the finals was Nicholas David back in Season 3.

4. Winners and their chairs turns:
Season 1: Javier Colon, 4 chairs
Season 2: Jermaine Paul, 2 chairs
Season 3: Cassadee Pope, 4 chairs
Season 4: Danielle Bradbery, 3 chairs
Season 5: Tessanne Chin, 4 chairs
Season 6: Josh Kaufman, 4 chairs
Season 7: Craig Wayne Boy, 2 chairs
Season 8: Sawyer Fredericks, 4 chairs

5. After eight seasons, a female coach still has never coached a singer into the victory circle. In fact, Season 8 marked the first time the winner didn’t start the season on Team Blake or Team Adam. I won’t be shocked if Gwen Stefani breaks that streak in Season 9.
