So, I supposed the story line of the night on The Voice is that Adam Levine finally lured a country artist from Blake Shelton.
And not just any country singer. He nabbed James Dupre, who had a recording contract at one point and prompted all four coaches to turn their chairs for his performance of “Let Her Cry” by Hootie and the Blowfish.
But he was just one of three singers to turn all four chairs Tuesday night. Blind Joe did it and landed on Team Blake. Evan McKeel did it and landed on Team Pharrell.
That means that after two blind audition shows, Adam, Blake and Pharrell each have a pair of singers who turned all four chairs. Gwen hasn’t won a four-chair turn yet.
But she did land Ellie Lawrence, a gal from Georgia who turned in what might have been my favorite performance of Tuesday evening when she sang “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off.”
Keep checking back. I’ll be posting profile blogs on each singer who lands a spot on Season 9, like the ones you’ll find here from past seasons.
Here are photos of the advancing artists.
