Just check out the numbers for Zach Seabaugh, the 17-year-old county singer performing for Team Blake on The Voice.
Coming off a rousing performance of “Brand New Girlfriend” in the live playoffs, Zach is The Voice leader in followers on Instagram and Twitter.
Meanwhile, Jordan Smith of Team Adam and Barrett Baber of Team Blake are the kings of Facebook, with more than twice as many fans as any of the other remaining contestants.
The previous social media leaders on The Voice — Viktor Kilary and Riley Biederer — were both eliminated last week. But in truth, most of their social media following came pre-Voice — Viktor’s from his success on singing shows in Europe and Riley’s from her following as a YouTube star.
Jordan is the perceived early season front-runner on Season 9 of The Voice. He ranks among the top three contestants on all three social media sites and showed last week’s biggest gains on Facebook and Twitter.
Based on the numbers below, his stiffest competition is likely to come from the country trio singing for Team Blake. That includes Zach, Barrett and Emily Ann Roberts.
And, remember, Twitter followers play a big role in the results over the next four weeks because the instant save will be in effect. Each Tuesday, show host Carson Daly will announce the singers with the lowest vote totals. Then one will be rescued from elimination via tweets from fans.
Check back Monday night for a live blog with song by song grades as the Top 12 perform.
In the meantime, here’s a look at the social media following for that Top 12 as of 8 p.m. Saturday. The number in parenthesis is the number of new fans or followers the singers has picked up in the past week. The links will take you to the social media accounts for each artist.
