We’ve yet to get a post-Voice album from Season 6 winner Josh Kaufman or Season 7 winner Craig Wayne Boyd.

We’ve gotten an EP from Season 8 winner Sawyer Fredericks to tide us over while we await the teen’s post-Voice debut.

Sounds like Season 9 winner Jordan Smith would like to beat them all to the punch.

In a post-victory interview with EW.com, Jordan said he’d like to release an album fairly early in 2016.

“I’m very, very adamant about getting my music out there as quickly as possible and the label (Republic Records) is with me in that effort,” Jordan said.

Such a quick turnaround wouldn’t be unprecedented.

After winning Season 13 of American Idol in late May, Caleb Johnson released a debut album in mid-August, a feat all the more impressive because he was also on the Idol summer tour at the time.

Of course, that album was a commercial flop.

During a post-show press conference Monday night, Jordan talked about a checklist of things he wants to accomplish and said he’s been writing songs.

When EW.com asked about the sounds fans could expect from a debut album, Jordan said that most of all he wants to put out an album that “inspires people.”

You can read the entire interview here, and you might also want to check out his interview with Today where he talked about how he tried out for The Voice in February 2014 and failed to make the cut.

In the meantime, a compilation album of Jordan’s performances from The Voice is available on iTunes. It was sitting at number 14 on the site’s albums chart Saturday evening.

A physical copy of the CD will be available at Walmart beginning Christmas Eve.
