Christina Grimmie won a Teen Choice award Sunday night, but wasn’t mentioned during the awards show.

But many of her fans weren’t rejoicing.

Instead, they were blasting the awards show on Twitter because her name wasn’t even mentioned during the telecast.

Among the comments:

@lizbaroa: “So the TCA’s essentially nominated Christina Grimmie after her death for promo and never even mentioned her name on air? Gross & corrupt:

@rightheredinah: “christina grimmie was an amazing person she deserved to be honored tonight the fact that the tca’s used her for promo makes me sick”

@nawmani: “christina grimmie, a victim of gun violence, did not get one mention at the TCAs after being exploited for views and tweets.”

Christina was shot to death by a crazed fan following a show in Florida in June. She won the Teen Choice Award for Choice Web Star: Music, beating out Boyce Avenue, Chloe X Halle, Cimorelli, Johnny Orlando and MattyBRaps.

Now, the Teen Choice Awards features way too many categories to honor all the winners during a two-hour broadcast. But it does seem strange — and unfortunate — that Christina wasn’t recognized in some way. Especially when the show made a point to include a segment on standing up against gun violence.

Meanwhile, other winners with singing show ties included Fifth Harmony and Carrie Underwood.

Carrie won the award for Choice County Music Star, beating out Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt and others.

Fifth Harmony — a five-girl group created during Season 2 of The X Factor — won twice in music categories, Choice Summer Song (“Work from Home”) and Choice Song from a Movie or TV Show (“I’m in Love with a Monster”).

Meanwhile, The Voice was nominated for Choice Reality TV Show, but the win went to Keeping Up with the Kardashians (ugh!).
